About Us

Balanced Talents began in 1990 as a way for mothers to save money on the healthy foods they provided their families.  Our name makes reference to the Biblical parable Jesus told His disciples about the servants who were each given a number of talents (a monetary unit) to work with during their master's absence.  Upon his return the master took inventory and the servants who had used their talents wisely received praise.  We have used this reference and blended it with the modern usage of the word "talents" in our name as a reminder that we are responsible to use our monetary and personal resources wisely.  We extend our services to anyone who wishes to join.

Currently orders are processed and picked up in the home of the director of the co-op.

Balanced Talents is incorporated as a non-profit organization.  The service fees that we collect are used to purchase supplies and postage, reimburse the director for the use of her facilities, and maintain an adequate balance in the checking account to cover errors on the part of the suppliers.  Our books are open to any member.  Since we are a non-profit organization each member has "voting rights."  We do all we can to be sure that the co-op serves the needs of its members.  If at any time the members feel a need for a new director a vote may be taken and new ones appointed.

We hope that you will find, as we did, that most if not all of your food and supplements can be supplied by the co-op.  We now refuse to buy any partially nutritious foods for full prices when we can so easily get fully nutritious foods for partial prices!  If there is any way we can help you with your orders, or using the products let us know.  We look forward to working with you this year.
